Federal Legislation on light bulbs

Sylvania has a easy to understand chart explaining the upcoming Federal Legislation on light bulb phase out and replacement changes. You can download it from our website.

The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA) is phasing out the iconic incandescent light bulbs and is requiring manufacturers to replace them with new, energy efficient bulbs that comply with EISA's mandated performance levels for incandescent and incandescent halogen bulbs.

The phase-out of the general service bulbs will begin January 1, 2012 starting with the 100W. The 75W will follow in 2013 and the 60W and 40W will follow in 2014. This means you will have to use more efficient lighting alternatives and there are plenty!
